Oklahoma Cavalry Supporting Moonlight Walk Against Drugs

LAWTON, OKLA.- The Oklahoma Cavalry professional CBA basketball team is participating in the 2007 Moonlight Walk Against Drugs Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at Elmer Thomas Park.
A booth will be set up prior to the walk from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and everyone in attendance is welcome to stop by and receive information on the team. Members of the Oklahoma Cavalry staff will then show their support against drugs by participating in the walk that kicks off at 7 p.m.
Detective Brent Yarbrough said he is happy the Oklahoma Cavalry will be taking part in this year's walk and hopes to work with the team on many more events.
"We're thrilled to have the Oklahoma Cavalry here in Lawton," Det. Yarbrough said. "We are ready and willing to work with the team not only for the Moonlight Walk, but on many different events this year."
This is the 17th Annual Moonlight Walk and is the largest annual fundraiser for the Crime Stoppers/Drug Busters of Southwest Oklahoma. All proceeds raised will help pay rewards to callers who provide information leading to felony arrests and crimes solved.
Static exhibits will also be on display before the start of the walk. They will include Crash Test Dummies, Police K-9 Demo, LPD S.W.A.T. and more. McGruff the Crime Dog will be in attendance as well.
This event is aimed at uniting the community against drugs, and all citizens are encouraged to come out and show their support in keeping the Lawton-Ft. Sill community and children drug free. The Crime Stoppers/Drug Busters are requesting that people organize teams through their work, church, school, etc. and walk as a group.
