Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Comets seek back-to-back wins for the first time following the All-Star Break as they continue their series against the Las Vegas Aviators at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...Tonight is Joe Torre Safe at Home Night, helping raise awareness about domestic violence and abuse, connect fans to resources and empower future generations.

Last Game: The Oklahoma City Comets got back in the win column with nine extra-base hits, including four homers, in an 11-2 victory over the Las Vegas Aviators Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Comets scored in the first inning for the second straight night to take an early lead and then extended the lead in the second inning with a solo shot from Ryan Fitzgerald. Las Vegas got on the board in the third inning before Ryan Ward belted a two-run homer in the bottom half to make it 4-1. The Comets added three more runs over the following four innings, including a second solo homer from Fitzgerald in the fourth and a RBI single by Noah Miller in the seventh inning. Four more runs scored in the eighth inning with a RBI double from Ward and a three-run blast from Jack Suwinski. Las Vegas' Jonathan Ornelas went deep leading off the ninth inning.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Carlos Duran is slated to open a bullpen game for the Comets as he makes his 36th appearance, tying him with Jerming Rosario for the team lead...Duran last pitched July 25 in Sacramento, tossing a scoreless inning with one strikeout, one walk and one hit batter...Duran has strung together six straight scoreless outings (6.2 IP) and owns a 0.77 ERA since June 21, going 1-1 with one run and six hits allowed and 18 K's against seven walks over 11.2 IP in his last 10 appearances...Overall this season, Duran is 3-2 with a 3.32 ERA in 40.2 IP with 59 K's and 28 walks and has held opponents to a .201 BAA. He was added to the Los Angeles Dodgers' 40-man roster July 6...Duran originally signed with the Dodgers March 8, 2018 as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic and was in the organization until he was traded to the Athletics April 2, 2025. He returned to the Dodgers as a minor league free agent this past December...Today is Duran's 25th birthday...The Comets are 3-4 in bullpen games this season. During the last instance July 12 vs. El Paso, nine different pitchers tossed a scoreless inning, combining to allow two hits and three walks with nine strikeouts during an 8-0 win over El Paso.

Against the Aviators: 2026: 3-5 2025: 8-4 All-time: 81-82 At OKC: 33-39

Oklahoma City plays its final series of the season against the PCL's first-half champions and reigning league champions, meeting for the only time at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...The two sides last met March 31-April 5 with the Aviators taking the series, 4-2, notching wins in four of the last five games...Even though OKC lost the series, James Tibbs III was named PCL Player of the Week, going 10-for-25 with five home runs and a double, including a three-homer game April 4...Las Vegas clinched the 2026 PCL first-half title with a 44-29 record and will have a chance to defend last season's league championship - the franchise's first league title since 1988...The Comets won the 2025 season series against the Aviators, 8-4, winning two of three games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...This will mark the first scheduled six-game series between the two teams in Oklahoma City since 2023 after two straight years of three-game sets in 2024 and 2025.

Post-Break Blues: The Comets went into the All-Star Break having won four straight games, five of six games and six of eight games and stood a season-best 11 games above .500 at 51-40. Even with last night's win, the Comets have lost eight of 11 games following the break, including losses in six of the last eight games with two three-game losing skids. Tonight they'll look for their first consecutive wins since the break...At 3-8, the Comets are in a three-way tie for the worst record in the PCL since the All-Star Break and the Comets are 13-15 in the second half...With a win tonight, the Comets can open a series with two wins in the first three games of a series for just the second time since their June 9-14 series in Charlotte. The Comets have lost at least two of the first three games to open five of their last six series since.

Getting Offensive: Oklahoma City's offense broke out for 11 runs and 16 hits Wednesday night for their highest run total since an 11-7 win June 13 in Charlotte and their most runs scored in a game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark since a 12-5 win May 6 against Salt Lake. The Comets scored at least one run in seven of eight innings last night...Their 16 hits were their most in a home game since March 28 against Albuquerque (16 H)...Of the Comets' 16 hits last night, nine went for extra bases for their most in a game since collecting a season-high 13 extra-base hits May 17 at Albuquerque, but it was the most extra-base hits at home since Aug. 3, 2025 vs. Salt Lake (11). OKC also matched its season-high mark with four home runs for the sixth time, last doing so July 8 against El Paso...The Comets have now scored at least eight runs in each of their last five victories and in seven of their last eight wins...Through two games against Las Vegas this series, the Comets have five homers and 13 extra-base hits, already exceeding their home run (four) and extra-base hit (11) totals from last week's entire six-game series in Sacramento.

Fitz Blitz: Ryan Fitzgerald recorded his second two-homer game of the season Wednesday night as part of a 3-for-5 outing with two RBI as well as the Comets' 14th multi-homer game of the season. He last went deep twice May 29 at Sugar Land and Wednesday marked the fifth two-homer game of his career...Fitzgerald is up to 10 homers this season and he leads all players in the Minors with 124 hits across 96 games, including a team-best 26 hits in 19 games this month. He is one hit away from matching his career best of 125 hits set in 2019 with High-A Salem (BOS)...Fitzgerald has hit safely in 20 of his last 24 games, batting .347 (34-for-98) since June 24.

History in the Making: Ryan Ward finished last night's game 2-for-4 with a double, homer and four RBI. It's his most RBI in a game with OKC this season and tied for his overall season high, also accomplished with the Dodgers June 10 at Pittsburgh...With his double in the eighth inning, Ward tied Jason Botts for the second-most career doubles during Oklahoma City's Bricktown era and is one shy of Kelly Dransfeldt's record of 93 career doubles...Ward owns OKC's Bricktown-era career records for hits (479), homers (102) and RBI (371)...In July, Ward leads OKC with five homers and 20 RBI in 19 games.

Jack Attack: Jack Suwinski crushed his 21st homer of the season on his 28th birthday last night - tied for the second-most homers in the league with teammate James Tibbs III. Suwinski also ranks first in the league among qualified hitters in OPS (.961), second in SLG (.571) and XBH (47) and third in RBI (71) and total bases (188)...The outfielder has hit two homers across the last four games...Over his last 20 games starting June 28, Suwinski is batting .371 (26-for-70) with 11 extra-base hits and 17 RBI...Suwinski and Tibbs are the only two players in Triple-A this season to record at least 20 homers and 20 doubles.

Runaway Train: Including last night, seven of the last 10 games have been decided by four or more runs. During that time, the Comets are 3-7. In the three wins, the combined score has been 29-4, but in the seven losses, the Comets have been outscored, 54-23...Going back further, each of the Comets' last five wins have been by at least five runs as have seven of their last eight wins. Their closest win in those eight victories was by three runs.

Zoned Out: The Comets and Aviators combined for 10 walks Wednesday night after tying an all-time Pacific Coast League record with 26 walks in Tuesday's series opener. The Comets issued six walks last night, five of which came in the final two innings...OKC has allowed a Triple-A-leading 554 walks through 102 games this season after topping all full-season Minor League teams with 782 walks in 150 games last season to set a Bricktown-era record. The Comets are now on pace for 809 walks this season.

Around the Horn: Hyeseong Kim matched Ryan Fitzgerald with a game-high three hits last night, including a double, walk and three runs scored...Zach Ehrhard has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, going 14-for-38 (.368)...With two games remaining in July, the Comets are 9-12, marking the team's second consecutive losing month. OKC is just 21-25 since the start of June (7th in PCL)...The Comets have had at least one player on their roster as part of a ML Rehab Assignment for 79 of 81 games starting April 21.
