
Oilers Sign Toninato and Kaebel

TULSA, OK- The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League have added two more players to their 2002-2003 roster, Head Coach Garry Unger announced today. Right Winger Derek Toninato and Center Klage Kaebel will be returning for their second season in an Oilers sweater.
"I am really happy to have these two back for another year," said Unger. "They are both great people, both on and off the ice."
Toninato re-joins the Oilers after appearing in 44 games for Tulsa last season. Toninato proved to be an unexpected scoring threat for the Oilers, ranking sixth on the team with 41 points on 17 goals and 24 assists. He also racked up 77 penalty minutes and led the team with a +13 defensive rating.
Kaebel played in 62 games last season in an Oilers sweater. He ended the season with 44 points on 16 goals and 28 assists, good enough to rank him fourth in scoring for Tulsa. He also put in two short-handed goals for the Oilers.
The signing of Toninato and Kaebel brings the total number of players signed by the Oilers for the upcoming 2002-2003 season to eleven. They join forwards Jamie Steer, Aaron Millar, Pat Hallett, Todd Marcellus, Justin Ossachuk, and Lyle Steenbergen; goalie Rod Branch; and defensemen Jordon Flodell and Kevin Livingston.
The 2002-2003 CHL season is slated to begin Thursday, October 17th, and conclude Sunday, March 16th of 2003. For season ticket information on the upcoming season, contact the Tulsa Oilers office at (918) 632-7825.
