Buzzards Set Cheerleaders Try-out Date

EL PASO, Texas â The El Paso Buzzards announced today that try-outs for the 2002-2003 Buzzards Cheerleading team will take place Saturday, August 10th at 2:00 pm in the lower court of Sunland Park Mall. Celebrity judges will take part and the new members of the 2002-2003 team will be announced at 3:30 pm.
Though cheerleaders are not a traditional component of hockey teams, the Buzzards recognize their benefit. "Our cheerleaders are an important part of our organization," said John Zang, Buzzards' vice-president and director of operations. "They act as ambassadors of hockey and the Buzzards in the El Paso community and take part in many charity and special events, not to mention 32 hockey games per season."
"We are coming off a great season," said Vikki Deloach, director of the El Paso Buzzards Cheerleaders. "And at this point in the year, we are looking for energetic and passionate ladies to become a part of our Buzzards cheerleading family."
Anyone interested in trying out for the 2002-2003 El Paso Buzzards Cheerleading Team should contact Deloach at her Omni Productions Studio at (915) 843-6664. For applicants, there will be two evenings spent at the studio dedicated to learning the try-out material: Tuesday, August 6th and Wednesday, August 7th at 7:00 pm. The studio is located at 6501 Boeing Suite H-1. Appropriate audition clothing is required.

The El Paso Buzzards play in the professional Central Hockey League. The team finished their season with a 36-24-4 record and made it to the second round of the play-offs for the first time in four years.
