Oilers Recall Teubert from OKC; Assign Omark to Barons

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers recalled defenseman Colten Teubert from the Oklahoma City Barons and assigned forward Linus Omark to the Barons, Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini announced today. In a separate transaction, the Barons recalled defenseman Dan Ringwald from the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, Barons general manager Bill Scott announced today.

Teubert, a 6-4, 210-pounder from White Rock, B.C. has played in all nine of the Barons games this season recording four points (2-2-4) and 18 penalty minutes. Originally a 1st round draft choice (13th overall) of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, this is Teubert's first call up to the NHL. He will join the Oilers as they prepare to play two games on the west coast Thursday against Los Angeles and Saturday against Phoenix.

Prior to turning pro, Teubert played four-plus seasons for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League where he recorded 113 points (32-81-113) in 263 games. He also represented Team Canada at the 2009 and 2010 World Junior Championships, winning gold each time.

Omark, a 5-9, 168-pounder from Overtornea, Sweden has appeared in five games for the Oilers this season. Last season, Omark played in 28 games with the Barons, scoring 14 goals and adding 17 assists. He played in all six of OKC's playoff games and had one goal and two assists. The Oilers 4th round draft choice (97th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, saw time in 51 NHL games last year, scoring 5 goals with 22 assists.

Ringwald, a 6-2, 190-pounder from Oakville, Ontario attended training camp with the Barons last month. He was assigned to Stockton where he has played in six games and has recorded five points (2-3-5). He skated with Stockton last season, recording 23 points (1-22-23) in 61 games. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he 123 points (21-102-123) in 146 games.

The Barons are in action on the road Thursday and Saturday, against the Abbotsford Heat, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. Faceoff for both games is 9 p.m. (ct).
