Tulsa Oilers News Release
Ron Kelly, long time supervisor of off-ice officials for the Tulsa Oilers died peacefully at his home in Catoosa Monday night. He was 67.
"Ron certainly gave a lot to the Oilers and many other groups," Oilers owner and team president Jeff Lund said. "He never wanted to miss an Oilers game, and even after he got sick, he made sure to make it to our last game last season. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ron's wife Carla and his family."
Along with his years of dedicated service to the Oilers (Ron worked as an off-ice official back in the days of the "original Central Hockey League" in the 1970's and 80's and resumed when the league was reborn in 1992), Ron also was involved in a number of civic groups including Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.)
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Kennedy-Amis-Kennard Funeral Service at 202 E. Oak Street, Catoosa. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 300 S. Cherokee Street, Catoosa.
