Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - Saturday, February 8 at the BOK Center, the Tulsa Oilers are facing off with the Wichita Thunder at 7:35 p.m. and are taking a stand against cancer on the sixth annual Pink In the Rink Night presented by TD Williamson and benefiting Turn Tulsa Pink.

The Oilers players will wear special pink jerseys which will be auctioned off immediately following the game to raise money for Turn Tulsa Pink, a non-profit organization which provides assistance to men's, women's, and children's cancer charities across northeast Oklahoma. Turn Tulsa Pink will also receive a portion of the ticket proceeds from Saturday's game and Oilers fans will have an opportunity to personally donate to the cause during a "pass-the-bucket" campaign in the first intermission. The Oilers are encouraging all fans to wear pink in support of cancer survivors, patients, and their families.

A special group of cancer survivors will help welcome the Oilers to the ice and will also participate in a pink parade during both intermissions.

The Oilers clash with the rival Thunder for the eighth of 14 meetings in the StoneWolf Casino Cup series and Tulsa holds a 4-2-1 edge over Wichita in the previous seven contests. Both squads remain firmly on the CHL playoff bubble, giving Saturday's tilt extra importance beyond the usual bragging rights between the league's oldest franchises.

Turn Tulsa Pink supports all people affected by cancer in communities throughout the Tulsa area. Turn Tulsa Pink volunteers believe that pink is not the color of just one cancer, but the color of passion, power, and love. No one cancer is more devastating than another when it happens to you or someone you love. Turn Tulsa Pink is a door-to-door network of people locally who help those dealing with cancer.

TD Williamson is on the leading edge of pipeline equipment and services. An innovative leader in the industry for more than 90 years, TD Williamson delivers onshore and offshore applications for pipelines systems around the world.

The Oilers are privileged to work closely with committed community partners like TD Williamson and Turn Tulsa Pink to raise awareness for the ongoing fight against cancer and support patients and their families during a time of need.
