
Sundogs' Winning Streak Ends with 2-1 Loss against Beast

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs' five game winning streak ended Wednesday night with a 2-1 loss against the Brampton Beast in front of 2,424 fans at Tim's Toyota Center. Despite the Sundogs outshooting the Beast more than double Arizona was unable to tally the win.
David Rutherford scored Arizona's only goal in their first tilt against the Brampton Beast on home ice. 7:28 into the opening period Rutherford ripped a shot from the point with assists from Johan Ryd and Jason Morgan. 21 seconds later and Brampton tied up the game with a goal from Jason Pitton. The Beast grabbed the lead 5:09 into the second period when Tylor Michel notched the game winning goal and Matt Caruana picked up his second point of the night. Brampton's Scott Howes received a penalty shot which Sundogs netminder Andrew Engelage denied.
Engelage's five game winning streak came to an end, blocking 16 shots. Neither team, were able to capitalize on the power play and were both, 0-3 on the man-advantage. Sundogs outshot the Beast 47-18. Both teams meet again Friday night at Tim's Toyota Center when the puck drops at 7:05pm.
