Oilers Help Pet Adoption Program
January 14, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
The Tulsa Oilers are always willing to lend a friendly helping hand. And this Saturday that will extend to four footed friends.
Members of the Oilers of the Central Hockey League team will take part in the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals "Adopt a Little Okie" program on Saturday January 16th from noon to 4 p.m. Players will be on hand at 3031 North Erie to help residents pick out the pet that is perfect for them. The Oilers are partnering with Tulsa Animal Welfare, and the Oklahoma Alliance for animals on this project.
"We have a dog, who is definitely part of our family and has been for years," Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay said. "We want our players to help these animals get a good loving family, and for the people who come by to get a pet that will be a part of their family for life."
Oiler players will help the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals by showing pets available for adoption to those people interested. They will show the pets available and also escort people through the Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter.
The Oilers play at Texas Friday night and return home to host the Wichita Thunder on Friday January 22nd at 7:35 p.m. at the Bok Center. Tickets for all Oilers games are available at the BOK Center box office or by calling 1-866-7-BOK CTR (726-5287). Tickets can also be purchased on line at www.tulsaoilers.com and at area Reasor's Grocery Stores.
