
Bucks Ink Desfosses To Five Game Contract

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that they have signed former Corpus Christi goaltender Kevin Desfosses to a five-game contract. Desfosses is expected to be in the line-up Friday when the Bucks travel to Rio Grande Valley.
The 22-year-old Desfosses (pronounced DAY-fo-say) is rookie status (25 professional games or less) and played 11 games with the Ice Rays posting a 3-5 record with a 3.16 G.A.A and a.903 sv. %.
"Kevin has a save percentage over nine which is pretty good and we need him to contribute right away," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He's been highly talked about throughout the league and we look forward to seeing what he can do."
Desfosses, a native of Beauport, Quebec, stopped over 30 shots in four of his eight starts with the Ice Rays including setting aside a career high 37 shots in a 4-1 win at Allen on November 6th.
Desfosses, 6'0'', 185 pounds, went 6-3 last year for the Port Huron Icehawks (IHL) with a 2.20 G.A.A and a.922 sv. %.
Prior to turning pro Desfosses played four seasons of junior's splitting time between the QJAHL, QMJHL, and SJHL. Desfosses won a combined 65 games during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons in junior.
**SCHWABE TO 14-DAY IR**
The Bucks announced Thursday that Evan Schwabe on the 14-day IR. Schwabe is the Bucks second leading scorer with 34 points (11-2334) in 33 games. Schwabe has scored a point in eight of the Bucks last 10 games.
**BILLSTEN TO RETURN FRIDAY**
The Bucks also announced Thursday that Curtis Billlsten will return to the line-up Friday when the Bucks travel to Rio Grande Valley. Billsten has missed the last seven games with a lower-body injury. Billsten has put up seven points (2-57) in 10 games.
