
Oilers Gordon and Cutthroats Patterson Win Weekly Honors

GLENDALE, AZ (February 17, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that the Tulsa Oilers forward Ben Gordon and Denver Cutthroats goaltender Kent Patterson have been named the Oakley Player/Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 16, 2014.
Both players have won the award multiple times with Gordon and Patterson winning the honor for the week of November 18-24 and Patterson winning for a second time last week.

Gordon helped his team to three wins during a busy four-game schedule in the week. On Tuesday, the veteran forward tied a CHL season-high with four goals in his teams win at Rapid City. Later in the week, the International Falls, Minnesota native had a goal and three assists in his team's impressive 9-4 victory over the Arizona Sundogs. He finished with six goals and four assists and is tied for sixth in the league in scoring with 63 point (27-36=63).
Patterson wins the weekly award in back-to-back weeks joining Missouri's Shane Owen as the only goalie to win the honor in consecutive weeks (Owen did it twice). The Denver backstop won both starts during the week, both against the St. Charles Chill, earning his second shutout of the season on Friday night (30 saves). On Saturday, he made 38 stops in a 4-2 win. On the season, the Plymouth, Minnesota native is 19-8-6 with a 2.66 goals against average (fifth in the CHL) and a .920 save percentage (second in the CHL).
