Tulsa Oilers News Release
FORT WORTH, TX - The third time was the charm for the Texas Brahmas as they picked their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over the Tulsa Oilers in front of 1,759 at the NYTEX Sports Centre in Fort Worth.
The Oilers (3-2) beat the Brahmas (1-3) in the first two meetings of the season between the teams, but on Sunday afternoon Texas jumped out to an early first period lead behind goals from Jordan Kary and Mark Ehl.
Tulsa cut the deficit in half in the second period when Ryan Cramer's wrist shot found the upper corner of the net at 10:43 mark. Cramer lit the lamp for the second time this season off assists by Mike Ullrich and Luke Lucyk.
The Oilers could not capitalize on an early third period powerplay and with just over 11 minutes to play, T.J. Fox chipped a puck past Ian Keserich to give the Brahmas a 3-1 cushion.
Keserich started his fifth straight game in net for the Oilers and stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced. Mark Guggenberger made 25 saves in his first outing in net for the Brahmas.
Tulsa returns to action on Friday, November 4th at Laredo at 7:30pm.
Tickets: Season tickets for the Oilers 20th season in the CHL are now on sale. More information is available by calling the Oilers office at (918) 632-PUCK (7825) or by visiting www.tulsaoilers.com.
