Tulsa Oilers broadcaster Steve McCall has accepted a position as vice-president of communications for the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League, and will leave the Oilers after seven seasons.
¬ÅSteve has done a great job for us and we wish him the best in this new opportunity in his career, ¬Â Oilers general manager Taylor Hall said. ¬ÅWith his enthusiasm we know he will be successful in the future. ¬Â
McCall is the longest serving broadcaster in Oilers history. He recently earned the Central Hockey League ¬â¢s Soul of Service award for 2010-11, the second time he has earned that honor. He also is a past CHL PR Director of the Year.
