Oilers Acquire Power Forward Kozak
June 18, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
Rugged right winger Rick Kozak will be bashing bodies in the BOK Center next Central Hockey League season as the Tulsa Oilers have acquired him from the Laredo Bucks. Kozak, 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, averaged a point a game for Laredo last season with 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points in 43 games. He also racked up 163 penalty minutes and was a +12. The 23-year old from Norway House, Manitoba was the third round pick (95th overall) of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2003 National Hockey League entry draft. In exchange for Kozak, the Oilers trade defenseman Cody Hamilton and center Mike Mullen to Laredo. "Rick has a great combination of toughness and scoring ability," Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay said. "He'll make sure no one on our team is going to get pushed around. And he can come up with the big goals when we need them too," Season tickets for the Oilers 2009-10 season and their three year super saver plan in the BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
