
Ohio Valley Greyhounds' Management Attends United Indoor Football League Meetings

The United Indoor Football League (UIF) held its January 2006 league meeting in Bloomington, Illinois January 19, 20, 21. The winter league meeting was hosted by the Bloomington Extreme, the newest team to join the United Indoor Football League.
This 3-day event brought together the United Indoor Football team owners, operation directors, and coaches for a series of meetings and planning seminars. The discussions covered a variety of topics including rules & regulations, marketing, management issues, promotion, expansion and other related Indoor Football League business.
"Our winter meetings were a great success. Bloomington was an ideal place to have all of teams meet and share ideas. Ed Brady and his Bloomington Extreme team were great hosts. We worked on several exciting issues for the upcoming season. Player development, fan relations, expansion and league branding were hot topics. By all acounts 2006 looks to be another amazing year in the UIF!
The Ohio Valley Greyhounds were represented at the 3-day event by Lou Stein, Greyhounds team owner and Sharon Stephan, Greyhounds office manager. Owners and representatives were in attendance from all the league teams which include:
- Evansville Bluecats Evansville, Indiana
- Lexington Horsemen Lexington, Kentucky
- Omaha Beef Omaha, Nebraska
- Sioux City Bandits Sioux City, Iowa
- Rock River Raptors Rockford, Illinois
- Bloomington Extreme Bloomington, Illinois
- Ft. Wayne Freedom Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Ohio Valley Greyhounds Wheeling, West Virginia
- Peoria Rough Riders Peoria, Illinois
- Sioux Falls Storm Sioux Falls, South Dakota
"This was my first United Indoor Football league meeting since taking over the team in late November 2005", said Lou Stein, Greyhounds owner. "I could not be more impressed with the caliber and professionalism of the ownership and staff of all the teams in our league. Now that I have gotten to know all of the owners personally, it is readily apparent that they have the same commitment to their teams, their personnel, and the communities they represent as I do. The United Indoor Football league management, headed by Dakota Crow, league commissioner, has a solid business plan in place that will insure stability and growth for this league and our teams for years to come. I am excited that the Ohio Valley Greyhounds are a part of this dynamic organization", continued Stein.
The Ohio Valley Greyhound's 2006 season begins Friday March 24, 2006 with an away game against the Lexington Horsemen in Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. The first home game will be Sunday, April 2, 2006 when the Greyhounds will host the Evansville Blucats at Wesbanco Arena with kick-off at 6:30 pm.
New season tickets are now on sale starting at $63.00 for all 7 home games and may be purchased by check, money order, or credit card. Season tickets may be purchased at the following locations: Wesbanco Arena Box Office - 2 Fourteenth Street - Wheeling, WV (304) 233-4470; the Ohio Valley Greyhounds Office - 1310 Market Street - Wheeling, WV (304) 232-4101 and coming soon is the Greyhounds Ticket Sales & Merchandise Kiosk in the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
