BlueCats Return From League Meetings

This past weekend, representatives from all ten UIF teams met in Bloomington, Illinois for the annual winter meetings. Team directors, coaches, and operators discussed and made decisions on a variety of topics as the teams make final preparations for the upcoming 2006 indoor football season.
Highlights from the weekend include: - The group took a tour of the new US Cellular Coliseum, home of the Bloomington Extreme. This new venue will be one of the nicest in the UIF. - Coaches met, discussed and made changes to the rule book in an effort to make the game more fan friendly, to save confusion for the officials, and to make the game more exciting. - Operations and management staff met to discuss ideas and strategies that each team had implemented in their respective markets. This kind of open sharing of marketing and management ideas between team's make the UIF one of the strongest indoor football leagues in the country. - Discussion began about expansion of the UIF for the 2007 season. The league hopes to announce the first expansion team for the 2007 season by the kickoff the 2006 season, March 24th. - The directors took care of several internal issues within the league, setting up the 2006 season of the UIF to be one of the most successful seasons in the history of indoor football.
Evansville BlueCats Owner and President John Voliva said, "Each of these league meetings keep building on the one previous. With each meeting, I feel that the UIF is becoming a stronger and stronger league, built not just for the present, but also providing stability for the long haul. The directors of each team truly believe in being business partners off the field and fierce competitors on the field."
