Orange County SC lost, 1-0, to San Antonio FC on Saturday, April 9 at Championship Soccer Stadium. It was OCSC's first loss at home in the 2022 USL Championship Regular season.
The match was deadlocked until the 60' when San Antonio forward Elliot Collier scored against the run of play. It was the New Zealander's second goal of the season.
OCSC had chances to score with Erick 'Cubo' Torres getting the better looks on goal. None of OCSC's 19 shots went past the San Antonio goalkeeper. The home team led the corner kick count with six to San Antonio's one.
These teams will not face each other until the final matchday of the season in San Antonio with possible playoff implications.
OCSC continues their homestand with an in-state matchup against Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, April 16 at 7:00pm at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine. On Wednesday, April 20, OCSC will continue their march in the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with a Third Round match against MLS side Los Angeles FC at 7:30pm at Banc of California Stadium.
