Oakland Roots travel to Sacramento to face Republic FC for a third time in 2022. The previous two games this season ended in draws meaning the winner of this round will win the season series. Up to this point in six previous games Oakland has yet to lose to Sacramento, having captured one win and five draws. Heading into the game Oakland are just one point out of a playoff spot with eight games left to go in the season.
