Loudoun United FC News Release
Leesburg, VA. - Loudoun United FC announced today the acquisition of Moroccan youth international Hassan Aqboub on loan.
The Mohammed VI Football Academy product joins Loudoun United FC on loan for the rest of the 2022 USL Championship season. The Academy is renowned for producing highly talented players at their world-class facilities, having received high praise from global superstar Sadio Mané on a recent visit. The Academy has produced alumni such as Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri and West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd along with several Moroccan internationals currently playing in Spain, France and Belgium.
Born in Morocco, Aqboub has been a part of the Moroccan Youth National Teams at U15, U17 and U20 levels. In 2020, the 5'8" winger participated in the prestigious Alkass International Cup held in Qatar, where his goal against Glasgow Rangers FC was voted Best Goal of the Tournament. Hassan was also awarded Man of the Match for the quarterfinal match of the Alkass International Cup before going on to feature against Real Madrid in the semi-finals and PSG in the playoff for third place.
"We are excited to add Hassan to the group," said Head Coach Ryan Martin. "He is an exciting young attacker, who can play off the dribble or pass and create goals."
The Moroccan joins a heavy African-influenced Loudoun United squad. Ivory Coast, Egypt, Algeria and Liberia have all been represented for the Red-and-White this season.
