Oakland Roots SC News Release


Oakland Roots are coming off the team's second draw of the season on Saturday. The match against Austin Bold was a physical one, with four Roots players receiving yellow cards. While Oakland was unable to find the back of the net, the team got their first clean sheet of the season and look to continue the strong defensive showing against San Diego Loyal on Tuesday.

This match marks the first time this season Roots players Tarek Morad and Emrah Kilmenta will face their former team.

San Diego enters the game in a two way tie for second place in the Western Conference Pacific Division standings. San Diego is currently on a six game unbeaten streak, with four of those matches ending in wins. Loyal's goalkeeper, Trey Muse, leads the league in saves with 40, while midfielder Jack Blake leads the team in goals with four.
