Oakland Roots and Soul SC and COPA Soccer Training Center Establish Talent ID Partnership

Oakland, CA - Oakland Roots and Soul SC announces the renewal of the partnership with COPA Soccer Training Center located at the Shadelands Mall in Walnut Creek, California. COPA is an innovative Soccer Training Center that strives to combine training methodologies based on sports science with cutting-edge technology to create a truly unique training and assessment environment. COPA will serve as the Official Talent ID Partner for Oakland Roots and Soul SC and provide a pathway for youth players to be identified by Project 51O, Oakland Soul, and Oakland Roots.

"High potential players are inevitably missed because they are not caught by the traditional methods of scouting," said Jordan Ferrell, Oakland Roots and Soul Technical Director. "The COPA Score can evaluate hundreds of these prospective athletes and provide us with critical data we would otherwise not have. This objective evaluation can help fill in the gaps of the identification and recruiting processes."

The partnership includes an interactive activation space at Oakland Roots home games, a Roots at COPA night, and promotional opportunities on Oakland Roots channels. The Copa Soccer Training Center will be utilized by Roots staff to evaluate players throughout the year.
