New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (1-3-0, 3 points) will travel to face FC Tulsa (2-2-0, 6 points) on Saturday, April 2. Kickoff from ONEOK Field is set for 8:30 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
The match marks the first-ever meeting between the two clubs, both of which are looking to bounce back from defeats in their last match. New York fell to Louisville City FC 2-0, on March 23, and Tulsa fell to Sacramento Republic FC, 2-1, on March 27.
Red Bulls II will aim to collect its second result of the season in the match, as it earned its first victory of the season in its last road match on March 16 at Atlanta United 2. Goalkeeper AJ Marcucci is the current USL Championship leader in saves with 16. He tallied 68 in 11 matches last season.
FC Tulsa enters the match with two victories on the season, defeating Birmingham Legion FC and San Diego Loyal SC, both at home. They are one of five clubs in USL Championship to have at least two home wins through the first three weeks of the season. The club is coming off its second-consecutive postseason appearance, where it fell to the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
New York is 11-13-7 all-time when facing an opponent for the first time. It will face eight other first-time opponents throughout the remainder of the 2022 season.
Following the match, New York will return home to face Rio Grande Valley FC on Friday, April 15, at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
