New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (2-16-3, 9 points) will host Memphis 901 FC (12-5-3, 39 points) on Wednesday, August 3, at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on ESPN+.
Wednesday will kick off a six-match month for Red Bulls II, which is a season-high. The club is also in the middle of a four-match homestand, also a season high, which runs from July 31 to August 12.
The two clubs will meet for the fourth time in their history, with the all-time series tied 1-1-1. Memphis took the most recent meeting 3-0 on September 19, 2021, behind a brace from Kyle Murphy. All three meetings between the teams have featured at least three goals.
Red Bulls II will look to bounce back after falling to New Mexico United, 2-1, on Sunday, July 31 at MSU Soccer Park. Steven Sserwadda scored his first USL Championship goal in the match and Giannis Nikopolidis tallied four saves, including a penalty kick stop in second half stoppage time.
Memphis enters the match as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. The club has not dropped consecutive matches this season and has earned a result in four of its last six matches. They are led by Phillip Goodrum, who leads the team with 12 goals on the campaign, which is tied for third-most in USL Championship. Defensively, they have allowed the fourth-fewest goals in USL Championship season.
New York sits 14th in the Eastern Conference, while Memphis ranks 4th.
Following the match, New York will host Atlanta United 2 on Tuesday, August 9, at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
