
NYRB II Falls to Monterey Bay F.C. in First-Ever Meeting

SEASIDE, CA - New York Red Bulls II (2-15-3, 9 points) fell to Monterey Bay F.C. (6-11-2, 20 points) 2-0 on Saturday, July 23, at Cardinale Stadium.
Monterey Bay opened the scoring in the 15th minute, as Adrian Rebollar sent in a ball from just outside the near edge of the box to Simon Dawkins, who immediately sent a header into the back of the net.
The home side doubled their advantage in the 89th minute, as Sam Gleadle scored following a pass from Jason Johnson on a counterattack.
Hassan Ndam made his season debut with Red Bulls II after signing with the club on July 14, playing the full 90 minutes. The match marked the 80th of Ndam's USL Championship career and first with Red Bulls II since November 2, 2018.
Following the match, New York will return home to kick off a four-match homestand, beginning on July 31 against New Mexico United. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
