Red Bulls II struck just 18 seconds into the match, as Jesús Castellano followed up on a loose ball following a scramble in the box. It marked the fastest goal in club history and is tied for the 10th fastest in USL Championship history.
Just two minutes later, New York doubled its advantage, as Jonathan Filipe finished a pass from Jordan Adebayo-Smith.
Hartford cut the deficit to one in the 51st minute after Tom Brewitt headed in a corner kick that was served in by Danny Barrera.
