SEATTLE - Jan. 3, 2014 - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has announced the list of allocated players for the 2014 NWSL season. A total of 50 allocated National Team players will be participating in the upcoming season with 26 Americans, 16 Canadians and eight Mexicans.

In addition to the returning allocated National Team players, there are 11 newly allocated National Team players that are now spread among the nine clubs, including five Americans (Yael Averbuch, Stephanie Cox, Whitney Engen, Meghan Klingenberg and Christen Press), four Canadians (Jonelle Filigno, Rachel Quon, Chelsea Stewart and Melissa Tancredi) and two Mexicans (Jackie Acevedo and Arianna Romero).

For the 2014 season Seattle Reign FC will have four American allocated players (Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe, Sydney Leroux, and Stephanie Cox), one Canadian allocated player (Carmelina Moscato), and one Mexican allocated player (Arianna Romero).

Two defenders from Reign FC's 2013 squad - Jenny Ruiz, a Mexican allocated player and Emily Zurrer, a Canadian allocated player - will not be returning to Reign FC for the upcoming season. Jenny Ruiz was not selected for allocation by the Mexican Federation, while Zurrer elected to play outside the NWSL and join Swedish side Jitex BK.

Hope Solo returns to Seattle with a perfect bill of health going into the 2014 NWSL season. Solo missed Reign FC's first seven games in 2013 due to a wrist injury. She gave Seattle a huge boost upon her return, finishing the season with a goals-against average (GAA) of just 1.357. Solo also had a standout 2013 with the USWNT. The keeper posted a 6-0-1 record in seven starts with one shutout, and a minuscule GAA of 0.50.
