
Nuts Take Game 1 from Rawhide

VISALIA, CA- Nuts take a seven-run lead in the first two innings and beat the Rawhide 14-4 in their first meeting of the year. Modesto put together a six-run second inning, which featured ten batters. Starting pitcher Jacob Steinmetz falls to 0-4 after pitching 1.1 innings and giving up seven runs.
The Rawhide used five pitchers in the series opener, including Luis Tejeda. The right hander pitched 2.1 innings and struck out four batters without giving up a run.
The 'Hide recorded four hits including a pair from Juan Corniel. The third baseman drove in the first Rawhide run of the game. Visalia scored all their runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Rawhide will host the Nuts for game two of the series Wednesday night at 7 pm. Joe Elbis is scheduled to start for the Rawhide.
