Nuts Look to Take Round 2 Series

The Modesto Nuts are now 2-2 in the second round of the 2012 Northern Division playoffs and will again face the Bakersfield Blaze tonight, who finished the 2012 regular season with an overall record of 72-68 and earned a first round bye by virtue of winning the first half. The Nuts continued their streak of wins in elimination games as they beat the Blaze, 3-2, last night at John Thurman Field to force Game 5 in the North Division Finals. After losing the first two games of the series in Bakersfield, Modesto has rallied for consecutive wins to set up a fifth and decisive game in the series to take place at John Thurman Field tonight. The winner will advance to play the Lancaster JetHawks in the best-of-five California League Championship Series. Lancaster defeated High Desert 3-to-1 in the South Division to clinch a spot in the finals. I f you'd like to read more about last nights game, click HERE .
