Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Green Bay, WI- The Green Bay Blizzard are proud to announce that five Blizzard players have gotten tryouts by NFL teams since the end of the Blizzard's 2012 season. RB LaRon Council, DB Aaron Moore, OL Shannon Breen, DB Reggie Sullivan and DL Lebron Daniel have each worked out with the NFL this offseason.
RB LaRon Council (5'10, 205), who holds the IFL and Blizzard single-season rushing record at 1,040 yards, had a tryout with the Green Bay Packers after the season. Council accounted for 32 total touchdowns and was voted to the First Team All-IFL. Council is the first indoor football RB to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season since 2005.
DB Aaron Moore (6'0,195) had a tryout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following a season in which he totaled 78 tackles, eight interceptions, forced fumble and one touchdown. Moore was a stalwart on the Blizzard defense that finished second in the IFL allowing just 41.9 points per game.
OL Shannon Breen (6'4,305) helped lead the Blizzard to a franchise record 1,458 rushing yards and earned a tryout with the Indianapolis Colts. Breen was also the centerpiece on an offensive line that paved the way for the third-most rushing touchdowns (39) in IFL history.
DB Reggie Sullivan (6'2,215) signed with the Blizzard on earlier this offseason and also had a tryout with the Green Bay Packers. Sullivan is an IFL veteran who has played with the Blizzard, Everett Raptors and Sioux Falls Storm. He has also played with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.
DL Lebron Daniel (6'2,305) had a tryout with the Green Bay Packers. Daniel recently joined the Blizzard this past off-season after a collegiate career at the University of Iowa.
"We are very excited for our young men who are getting the opportunity to get in front of NFL personnel", said Head Blizzard Head Coach Robert Fuller. "LaRon, Aaron, Shannon, Reggie and Lebron have worked so hard and have sacrificed so much and hopefully this is just the beginning for them."
Fuller went on to say, "Our program philosophy in Green Bay is to win a lot of football games, to make a difference in the community, and to move on as many players as we can. We do that by providing a competitive, process focused, and organized environment that disciplined and self motivated players thrive in."
