
Northern Arizona Wranglers Sign Wide Receiver Tosin Oyekanmi

Oyekanmi joins the Wranglers for his first season in the Indoor Football League. Oyekanmi began his collegiate career at ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y., before receiving a scholarship offer to play at Long Island University on Long Island, N.Y. During his time at Long Island University, Oyekanmi hauled in 81 receptions for 1,052 yards and six total touchdowns. Oyekanmi was extremely productive for the Sharks on and off the field during his collegiate career from 2019 to 2022. Oyekanmi became a leader on the team and earned a spot on the NEC Spring 2022 Academic Honor Roll. Oyekanmi graduated with both his bachelor's and master's degree in business from Long Island University.
Oyekanmi is originally from Queens, N.Y., where he attended Christ the King High School. As far as his inspiration to start playing football in fourth grade, Oyekanmi credits his friends and those around him. Oyekanmi explained by saying, "Playing football was always something we did for fun at recess, and I started playing Pop Warner in fourth or fifth grade." Oyekanmi expanded on this by stating, "Most of my friends played football together and we all just kept with it." As far as what inspires him to continue playing, Oyekanmi stated, "My family keeps me going, and I have come a long way with football, I didn't come this far just to come this far." Oyekanmi added to this by saying, "Coming to Northern Arizona is a great opportunity to keep playing football and see what's next."
When asked about what he is looking forward to about joining the Wranglers, Oyekanmi stated, "I am looking forward to going to the west coast, I haven't been out there in a few years, this is a great opportunity for me to keep playing football." What can Wranglers fans expect from Oyekanmi on the field? Oyekanmi stated, "The fans can expect me to be a playmaker who is exciting to watch, and I will be a team player and a leader."
