North Shore Spirit announce 2003 schedule

LYNN -- The North Shore Spirit will open their inaugural season on May 22, 2003 at Brockton with the home opener set for May 28 vs. Bangor at the new Fraser Field.

The Spirit will play a 92-game schedule in the Northeast League, formerly the Northern League East. The Spirit will play in the North division with Brockton, Bangor (formerly Adirondack) and Quebec. The South division will be comprised of Berkshire, New Jersey, Elmira and Allentown.

The season will be divided into two halves, with the first half ending on July 9 and the second half running from July 11 until the end of the regular season on Sept. 1. The Northeast League All-Star Game will be on July 29 at a site to be determined.

Spirit home games at the new Fraser Field will begin at 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sundays.
