
North Carolina FC to Host First-Division Mexican Club Atlas FC of Liga MX in Preseason International

CARY, NC - North Carolina FC will host Atlas Futbol Club of Liga MX of Mexico on Wednesday, March 22 in the 9th Annual Hyatt Place Southpoint Community Shield Match. The game is presented by longtime NCFC partner Summit Hospitality and is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Tickets for the Atlas match are included in all Season Ticket Membership packages as Game A. Season tickets afford the opportunity to secure the best available seats for the match at the best prices.
Current NCFC Season Ticket Members can also purchase additional individual tickets at this time. Season Ticket Members can call the box office at 919-459-8144 to take advantage of this offer.
Individual tickets to the match will be available to the general public through a two-for-one offer that includes a ticket to the Atlas match and a ticket to NCFC's regular season home opener on Saturday, March 25 against Miami FC. This package will go on sale on Wednesday, February 22 at 9 a.m. ET.
North Carolina Football Club individual and Flex Plan Members will have a priority purchasing opportunity on the two-for-one ticket deal during a 24-hour presale window, before they go on sale on February 22. Season ticket members can purchase additional tickets during this window of time as well. Headquartered in Guadalajara, Mexico, Atlas was founded in 1916 and is coached by longtime Liga MX Head Coach Jose Guadalupe Cruz. The club's roster is led by Mexico's national team captain and former New York Red Bulls defender Rafa Marquez. In its 100-year existence, Atlas has won a Liga MX title, four Copa MX and four Campeî"n de Campeones titles.
The club's roster is a mix of young and experienced players, including Argentine veteran Matias Alustiza who won the Copa Libertadores Top Goal-Scorer award in 2012. Alustiza is joined by 2009 CONCACAF Champions League winner Daniel Arreola and young defender Luis Reyes who recently earned his first cap with the Mexican national team on February 8. Forward Fidel Martinez brings additional experience to Atlas' roster at just 26 years old. He has scored seven international goals in 29 appearances with the Ecuadorian national team since 2008.
