
Norsemen Home Opener Soured by Bobcat Offense

ST. CLOUD, MN - A high-powered Bismarck Bobcat offense overpowered the St. Cloud Norsemen on the way to an 8-1 decision in St. Cloud on Friday night.
Nearing the midway point of the first period, the Bobcats took the lead when Owen Michaels cleaned up a rebound for the 1-0 advantage. With time winding down, Bismarck grew its lead when Thomas Bergsland found the back of the net after a long Bobcats stay in the offensive zone.
The Bobcats continued their offensive press into the second period, amassing four goals from Dalton Wright, George Grannis, Will Magnuson, and Tim Piechowski.
In the third, Braden Costello and Owen Michaels grew the lead to 8-0 before the Norsemen would earn a goal back from Trevor Smith who scored in his Norsemen debut for the 8-1 final.
After the loss, the Norsemen fall to 0-5-0-0 on the season.
The Norsemen will return to action on Friday, November 6 ÃÂ on the against the Minot Minotauros at 7:10 PM. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game live on the Lyon Sheet Metal and Heating Norsemen Network on HockeyTV.
