St. Cloud Norsemen News Release
Minot, ND - A late third period goal was too much for the St. Cloud Norsemen to overcome as they fall to the Minot Minotauros 4-2 on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first period, the hosts stuck first as Cade Stibbe gave Minot the 1-0 lead mid-way through the second. Just under four minutes later, the Norsemen leveled the game as Ben Helgeson netted a powerplay goal for his fourth of the campaign.
In the opening moments of the third period, Kaiden Scott tucked the puck into the back of the net to give the Tauros the 2-1 lead. St. Cloud, again, tied the game as Max Johnson scored his first of the season. Ethan Schmunk, late in the game, scored the go-ahead goal for Minot before jay Bucholz secured the empty-net goal.
With the loss, the Norsemen fall to 4-13-0 and will take on the Minnesota Wilderness on Wednesday, February 3 at 7:00PM at Dave Torrey Arena in St. Cloud. Mark Shelley will provide the Play-By-Play on the Lyon Sheet Metal & Heating Norsemen Network beginning at 6:55PM on HockeyTV.
