St. Cloud Norsemen News Release
Austin, MN - A third period comeback and a shootout winner downed the St. Cloud Norsemen as they fell 4-3 in the shootout to the Austin Bruins on Wednesday night.
After a back-and-forth opening portion of the game, the Norsemen took to a late-period powerplay and converted for the 1-0 lead with Jack Reimann's fourth goal of the season.
Early in the second, St. Cloud added its lead as Charlie Skinner scored his third of the season. Minutes later, Skinner, again, would find the back of the net for his second of the game to give the Norsemen the 3-0 lead. After an incident that resulted in 62 penalty minutes between the two sides, the Bruins got on the board as Reggie Millette scored shorthanded.
The Bruins would tie the game with two late-period goals in the third from John Lundy and Barrett Brooks to send the game into overtime.
After a scoreless sudden death period, the Bruins would see Brooks score in the shootout to claim the 4-3 victory.
With the loss, the Norsemen fall to 8-16-1 and will take on the Bismarck Bobcats on Friday, February 26 at 7:00PM at home at the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud. Mark Shelley will provide the Play-By-Play on the Lyon Sheet Metal & Heating Norsemen Network beginning at 6:55PM on HockeyTV.
