Norman Wins Goal of the Week

Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC News Release


WINDSOR, Colo. - Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC midfielder Destan Norman has won the USL League One Fans' Choice Goal of the Week for Week 28. The goal came in the 76th minute of the 2-1 win over FC Tucson.

The goal was not only the game-winning goal, but it was Norman's first career goal. The play started from an Arthur Rogers corner kick that was cleared away by the Tucson defender. It went as far as Norman, who was unmarked at the top of the 18-yard box. He took the shot first-time, getting it through the bodies in front of the goal untouched.

Irvin Parra is the only other Hailstorm player to win a Goal of the Week honor. Parra won back in Week 5 with his goal against North Carolina FC on April 30. Other Northern Colorado players to be nominated for the award were Stefan Lukic (Week 6), Parra (Week 11), Danny Robles (Week 14), Jerry Desdunes (Week 22), and Brecc Evans (Week 26).

The future home of Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, 118-acre Future Legends Complex will feature a 6,500-seat TicketSmarter Stadium, 2,500-seat Future Legends Field, multiple baseball diamonds, multi-purpose fields, an indoor sports arena, lodging, and retail; and will host guests for major sports tournaments, events, leagues, and more.
