Norfolk Tides News Release

Nolan Reimold homered twice and five pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Tides knocked off the Durham Bulls 7-0 Sunday afternoon.

Facing Durham prospect David Price (1-2), Norfolk jumped out to a first inning lead on a solo home run by Scott Moore. Reimold followed with a solo shot of his own one inning later to give the Tides a 2-0 advantage.

An RBI single by Justin Christian in the fourth gave Norfolk a 3-0 lead, and Reimold connected on his second solo shot of the contest in the fifth frame to put the Tides on top 4-0.

Reimold is now batting .417 with six homers and 19 RBI in 16 games this season.

Tides starter Jason Berken did not allow a hit over three innings before leaving the contest due to a minor groin injury. He was replaced by Andy Mitchell (2-0), who struck out three over 2.2 innings to earn his second win of the season.

Kam Mickolio, Alberto Castillo and Jim Miller combined to record the final eight outs and give Norfolk its fourth shutout of the year.

The Tides now boast an International League leading 2.30 team ERA, and they've registered more strikeouts (112) than hits allowed (106) this year.

After an off day Monday, Norfolk will welcome the Gwinnett Braves to Harbor Park Tuesday night for the start of a two-game set. Chris Waters (2-1, 3.77) is slated to take the hill for the Tides, with first pitch scheduled for 7:15.
