Medford Rogues News Release
MEDFORD, OR - After a disappointing losing spell against the Corvallis Knights, the Medford Rogues returned home to winning ways as they defeated the visiting Northwest Star Academy 17-4 tonight at Harry and David Field.
Highlighting the night was a combined no-hitter as seven Rogues pitchers walked 11 and hit five batters but did not allow a hit on the night.
The Rogues dug themselves a hole early after the top of the first found the visitors leading 4-0. Pitchers Christian Morrison and Dylan Ramage combined to walk in four NW Star players while Christian Cox pulled one back for the Rogues as the first ended 4-1.
The Rogues only managed to pull even and eventually one ahead thanks to the error prone Northwest Star Academy who committed eight errors in total for the night. Four runs at the bottom of the second put the Rogues up 5-4 before going the next several innings scoreless.
While the Rogues offense took several innings to kick into gear, they eventually managed to get ahead before completely dominating the final two innings. Catcher Joey Morgan was dominant at the plate, going 2-5 with four RBI. Third baseman Andre Vigil went 3-5 with three RBI.
Rogues face the Bend Elks tomorrow at 1:05p.m. in a return to league action at Harry and David Field. Following their four-game WCL losing streak, the Rogues are sitting in second of the south division with the Elks just trailing them in third.
