NLL Announces All-Star West Division reserves

February 10, 2004 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) News Release


The National Lacrosse League has announced the West Division reserves for the 2004 All-Star Game. The game will feature the All-Stars of the East Division against the All-Stars of West Division on Sunday, February 22 at Pepsi Center in Denver, home of the Colorado Mammoth. The reserves are chosen by the coaches of each All-Star team.

WEST DIVISION RESERVES

Forwards

Ted Dowling, Calgary Roughnecks leads his team with 15 goals, and is second on his team with 10 assists and 25 points in six games played. Dowling has also picked up 22 loose balls this season. Dowling is ninth in the league with 15 goals.

Mike Law, Anaheim Storm is second on his team with seven assists in four games played. Law is also fourth in goals and points for the Storm with six goals and 13 points. Law has also scooped up 21 loose balls this season. Law is a Denver native and will play in his hometown at the All-Star game. West Division Coach Jamie Batley said, “he can play both ends and help us win.”

Pat Maddalena, Arizona Sting leads the Sting in goals (17) and points (30) and is tied for first in assists with 13 in six games played. Maddalena has also picked up 17 loose balls. Maddalena is tied for third in the league with 17 goals and seventh in the league with 30 points.

Casey Powell, Anaheim Storm leads the Storm in both assists (15) and points (22) in four games played. Powell is also tied for second in goals with seven for the Storm. Powell is also second on his team with 25 loose balls.

Josh Sanderson, San Jose Stealth leads the Stealth in assists (21) and total points (32) in six games played. Sanderson is also tied for third on the team with 11 goals. Sanderson is second in the league in assists with 21 and tied for fifth in the league with 32 points. Sanderson has also picked up 29 loose balls this season.

Dan Stroup, Vancouver Ravens leads the Ravens with 26 points in eight games played. Stroup is also second in goals and assists for the Ravens with 12 goals and 14 assists. Stroup has also collected 34 loose balls.

Kaleb Toth, Calgary Roughnecks is fourth in all offensive categories for the Roughnecks with 12g, 9a, 21pts in six games played this season. Toth has also picked up 24 loose balls.

Defensemen

Rob Kirkby, Calgary Roughnecks has scored one goal and added an assist for three points in six games played. Kirkby is fourth in the league in face offs winning 23 of 39 this season. Kirkby has also picked up 17 loose balls.

Jamie Hanford, Colorado Mammoth is second for the Mammoth and third in the league with 55 loose balls collected this season. Hanford has also scored one goal and is the third best in the league winning 106 of 179 faceoffs.

Jay Jalbert, Colorado Mammoth has scored nine goals and added ten assists for 19 points in seven games. Jalbert is also fifth in the league with 49 loose balls collected this season.

Cam Woods, San Jose Stealth is second on the Stealth with 34 loose balls in six games played. Woods has also recorded four assists.

Goaltender

Mike Miron, Arizona Sting has a 13.89 goals against average and is sixth best in the league with a .755 save percentage in six games played this season.

The West Division starting lineup was announced yesterday. The starting lineup consists of forwards Gary Gait and Gavin Prout of the Colorado Mammoth and Tracey Kelusky of the Calgary Roughnecks; defensemen Jim Moss of the San Jose Stealth and Andy Ogilvie of the Vancouver Ravens and goaltender Gee Nash of the Colorado Mammoth. The Head Coach is Jamie Batley of the Colorado Mammoth. The Assistant Coach is Chris Hall of the Calgary Roughnecks.

The East Division reserves will be announced tomorrow.
