"I am looking forward to returning to Sioux City and working for the Explorers again this season. Everyone treated me great last season from the management in the front office, the team, our radio station, KSCJ and especially the fans. Everyone treated me like family and that was the main reason for my desire to come back for another year. I know it's out of my control, but I hope I get to broadcast more wins for the X's this year, stated Nitz".

Over his baseball-broadcasting career he has been the voice of the Bluefield Orioles (Appalachian League) for three years, Oklahoma City 89ers (AAA-American Association) for three years, Shreveport Captains (AA-Texas League) for 14 years, Baton Rouge Blue Marlins (Independent-All American League) for one year and spent six years with the Shreveport Sports (Independent-Central League & American Association) prior to joining Sioux City in 2009. "The Sioux City Explorers have been a big part of our summer programming at KSCJ and we are excited to start our 18th season covering X's baseball. Dave Nitz is a consummate professional and we are looking forward to having him back on the air this season," says KSCJ General Manager Dennis Bullock.
