Maryland NightHawks News Release
Upper Marlboro, MD. NightHawks' owner, Andrew Haines, announces that they will reach even further into the community and partner with the Community of Hope.
"Recently, I met with the Educational Enrichment Program Director, James Mathews, and there seems to be a lot of different avenues in which we can help the EEP as well as Community of Hope, which is exciting. Our coaches and players want to work with places where we can make the biggest, most positive impact and Community of Hope fits that mold, " commented, Ashlee Fontes, NightHawks' Assistant General Manager.
The NightHawks will begin their outreach to the Community of Hope on Tuesday, October 5, the local players and Head Coach, "Twiggy" Sanders will speak to the kids in the Educational Enrichment Program and take the kids to the park for some fun activities, weather permitting.
The Educational Enrichment Program runs from Monday-Friday starting at 3:30PM for children ages 6 to 12. The program emphasizes successful performance in school, improving math and reading skills, discovering self-esteem and mastering basic social and life skills. It is a program that provides direct service to children with educational and behavioral challenges.
Get involved! There are plenty of ways to bring a smile to someone's face and to influence someone's life in a positive way. For more information on the EEP or Community of Hope visit www.communityofhopedc.org.
