Atlantic City, N.J. - The Surf have announced that Phil Nicoletti will serve as a coach under manager Cecil Fielder this season. Along with his duties with the Surf, Nicoletti is also in his second season as an associate area scout with the Cleveland Indians, and is a staff member for International Performance Baseball.
Last season, the native of Lynn, Mass., spent the summer of 2007 as an instructor for the TPX Top96 College Coaches Clinics, and as the head baseball coach at Armstrong Ringsted High School in Armstrong, Iowa. Nicoletti, 26, began his coaching career at Iowa Lakes College in Estherville, Iowa.
