Nichols Shuts out Bobcats: Williams Scores First Goal of Season

WENATCHEE, Wash. - RobertNichols (Dallas, Texas) pitched his third shutout of the season and Brian Williams (San Diego, Calif.)scored the only goal of the game to lead the Wenatchee Wild to a 1-0 victory over the Bismarck Bobcats Friday at the Town Toyota Center.

After two scoreless periods, Williams notched his first goalof the season on a rebound 4:40 into the third period off of a Blake Roubos (NiagaraFalls, Ontario) shot that came on a loose wrap around try. Josh Hartley (Coquitlam, British Columbia) notched the second assist.

Nichols was the No. 1 star of the game. He stopped all 24shots he faced, several of which were difficult and a couple of which were ridiculous. He also helped the Wild kill off five Bismarck power plays.

Wenatchee edged Bismarck in shots, 26-24. Like the Bobcats,however, the Wild also failed to score on the power play, going 0-for-3 on thenight.

Aaron Nelson made 25 saves for the Bobcats on 26 shots.

Wenatchee (13-3-1) will try to sweep the season series against the Bobcats Saturday. Faceoff is at 7:05 p.m.
