Abood Lifts Wild in OT: Williams Records 3-Point Series

WENATCHEE, Wash. - DylanAbood (Centennial, Colo.) scored 35 seconds into overtime Saturday to liftthe Wenatchee Wild to a 3-2 win over the Bismarck Bobcats at the Town ToyotaCenter. The victory gave the Wild a weekend and season sweep over the Bobcats.

Bismarck scored first Saturday when Shane Omdahl notched apower-play goal from Levi Blom and Nate Repensky 12:29 into the first period.Wenatchee had several opportunities to tie the game late in the first frame,especially during a 5-on-3 chance when JonoDavis (La Verne, Calif.) blasted a shot off the post, but the Bobcatsmaintained their 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Davis would not be denied in the second period. He tied upthe game 58 seconds into the stanza when he ripped a slapper past goalie AaronNelson from just inside the blue line. MaxMcHugh (Edgewood, Wash.) set Davis up with a nice pass on the play while Josh Hartley (Coquitlam, BritishColumbia) recorded the second assist.

Bismarck took the lead back roughly nine minutes later whenMike Dockry buried a loose puck in front of the Wild cage. Bob Kinne assisted.

The Bobcats retained their 2-1 lead through 18:02 of thethird period until Hartley sent the game to overtime. During a power play,Hartley scored on a deft pass from NoahNelson (Oconomowoc, Wis.) after sneaking into the back door undefended. Brian Williams (San Diego, Calif.) alsoassisted.

Abood went on to win the game for the Wild 35 seconds intoovertime when he chipped the puck into the net on a top shelf shot from the farfaceoff circle. Williams earned the lone assist on the play.

Williams was a key factor in both Wild wins this weekend. OnFriday, he scored the lone goal of the game to lift his club to a 1-0 win. OnSaturday, he recorded an assist on the game-tying goal and the game-winninggoal in overtime. Hartley also notched a 2-point game for the Wild Saturdaywith a goal and an assist.

Wild goalie RobertNichols (Dallas, Texas) made 26 saves on 28 shots to improve his seasonrecord to 10-3-1. Nelson made 27 saves on 30 shots for the Bobcats.

Both teams scored one power-play goal on six chancesSaturday.

The Wild (14-3-1) will host the Fresno Monsters on Nov. 23-24.Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
