NHL Central Scouting Recognizes Carey Terrance in October's Players to Watch List
October 25, 2022 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Erie Otters News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania - The 2022-23 Ontario Hockey League season is well underway with November around the corner. Before the first full month of the OHL season concludes, 47 players would find themselves named to the National Hockey League Central Scouting's "Players to Watch" list for October - including second-year Erie Otter Carey Terrance.
The 10th overall pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft, Carey Terrance was given a "B" Rating by NHL Central Scouting - indicative of a player that could potentially be selected as high as the Second Round of the 2023 NHL Draft. Terrance, named an Alternate Captain by the Otters prior to the start of the season, has made a noticeable impact for the team on and off the ice early in the new year. Standing at 4-4-0-2 (2nd in the Midwest Division), Terrance has found five points (2G+3A) and major minutes on one of the league's top Penalty Kill units. Terrance has represented both the Stars & Stripes and the Maple Leaf in international competition, and has continuously been viewed as a speedy, skilled, 200-foot player.
The Sophomore from Akwesasne, NY is one of just 25 Forwards on the list from the OHL.
Established in 1975, the NHL's Central Scouting Department was established as a scouting service for the NHL member clubs. Considered the highest echelon of prospect rankings and scouting, the Central Scouting's "October Players to Watch" list serves as the first set of pre-Draft rankings for amateur hockey players. The 2023 NHL Draft is set to take place on June 28 & 29 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Erie Otters congratulate Carey on this recognition, and look forward to his continued growth and development during his draft-eligible season.
