Newark Bears Slated to Host Jersey City Night on July 11th

NEWARK, NJ, July 9, 2003 - The 2002 Atlantic League Champion Newark Bears will host the first annual Jersey City Night at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Friday, July 11th for the 7:05 PM game against the Atlantic City Surf.
Organizing the event is Jermaine Sanders, a Dickinson High School graduate, who was hired by the Bears to serve as Ticket Sales Executive. He completed four years at Monmouth University with a degree in Business Management and Marketing.
Former Major League baseball player and future Hall of Fame Bears outfielder Rickey Henderson played for the Jersey City Giants in 1978, a minor league team associated with the Oakland Athletics.
Jersey City Night is an opportunity for residents of Jersey City to join together at the ballpark and enjoy an exciting game of Newark Bears Baseball. The event presents many ways for groups and residents an opportunity to get involved in many ways with activities on the field. Currently, "Field of Dreams" is still open, which enables a baseball team to stand on the field with Bears' players during the National Anthem.
Groups will have the opportunity to fundraise by purchasing discounted tickets. Groups of 30 or more will receive discounted ticket prices of $8.00 for a Box Seat and $6.00 for a Reserve Seat ticket. In addition, each organization in attendance will have their name put up on the scoreboard during the game.
