New York Red Bulls II News Release

HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II defeated the Harrisburg City Islanders, 1-0 on Thursday night at Red Bull Arena. Sean Davis scored the game-winner, his first in USL this season, in the seventh minute.

It was the fourth consecutive 1-0 win for NYRB II, as the team moves to 8-1-3 on the season, and is tied on points with Louisville for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

NYRB II is unbeaten in six games, and has eight shutouts while allowing the fewest goals in USL this season, just six in 12 games.

Davis' goal came as a result of pressure around the Harrisburg penalty area. The midfielder jumped on a loose ball that deflected off of a Harrisburg defender and fired a shot from the penalty spot.

Red Bulls goalkeeper Kyle Reynish got the start and extended the team shutout streak to four full matches. The last goal NYRB II conceded was on May 14, in the 90th minute of a 1-1 draw with the Richmond Kickers at Red Bull Arena.

Eight members of the Red Bulls' first team earned starts on loan from MLS, as Reynish was joined by Shaun Wright-Phillips, Gonzalo Veron, Gideon Baah and Justin Bilyeu, along with Homegrown Players Sean Davis, Alex Muyl and Brandon Allen. Another Homegrown, Derrick Etienne Jr., saw time as a substitute.

NYRB II is next in action away at Orlando City B on Sunday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. The team returns home to host the Wilmington Hammerheads on Sunday, June 26 at 3 p.m.
