New York Red Bulls II News Release

New York Red Bulls II (10-6-4, 36 pts.) defeated Orlando City B (10-8-2, 33 pts.) 2-1 on Monday, July 31 at MSU Soccer Park.

Red Bulls II opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, as midfielder O'Vonte Mullings played a pass from the far side to midfielder Wiki Carmona, who collected the ball, moved towards the center of the field, and sent a shot into the back of the net.

Orlando equalized in the 47th minute off a turnover as midfielder Jhon Solís sent a pass forward to defender Moises Tablante, who maneuvered around the defense and leveled the match.

New York regained the advantage in the 77th minute. Following a foul in the box, midfielder Ibrahim Kasule stepped up and converted a penalty kick, slotting it straight on the ground past the keeper.

Red Bulls II earned its 10th victory of the season, marking the sixth time in the club's nine year history that it has won double-digit matches.

New York has allowed the fewest goals in the Eastern Conference (23) and ranks fourth in MLS NEXT Pro.

The goal for Kasule was his team-leading 10th of the season. The Ugandan midfielder has scored in each of the club's last seven matches and 10 of the last 11.

His seven-match goal streak is the longest in MLS NEXT Pro history.

Kasule became the 17th player in club history to record double-digit goals during their Red Bulls II career and the first since Jeremy Rafanello, who achieved the mark during the 2022 season.

With the goal, Kasule became the first double-digit goal scorer for Red Bulls II since the 2019 season (Jared Stroud, Tom Barlow, Mathias Jørgensen).

Carmona's goal was his fourth of the season in just his fifth appearance. He is tied for second on the team with forward Frank Ssebufu and midfielder Ricardo Gorday.

The assist for Mullings was his third of the season, which ranks second on the team. It marked the eighth of his Red Bulls II career.

New York will travel to face New England Revolution II on Sunday, August 6. Kickoff from Gillette Stadium is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. ET. Coverage will be on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
