New York Liberty to Celebrate 25th Anniversary Week August 22-27

NEW YORK - As part of the New York Liberty's 25th anniversary commemoration, the team will celebrate at home games on August 22, 25, and 27. The anniversary week will feature special moments, events, activations, and appearances by Kym Hampton, Rebecca Lobo, Teresa Weatherspoon, Sue Wicks, Crystal Robinson, Tamika Whitmore, Swin Cash, and many more.
"We are thrilled to welcome back and recognize the incredible women who are at the forefront of the New York Liberty's rich history," said Liberty CEO Keia Clarke. "Collectively, they built a strong foundation, and as the franchise looks forward to its next 25 years, this week is about celebrating the Liberty family and our loyal fans."
SUNDAY, AUGUST 22 VS. LOS ANGELES SPARKS | 2 P.M. ET
Liberty legend Crystal Robinson will be inducted as the seventh member of the New York Liberty Ring of Honor during halftime of the August 22 game against fellow original team, the Los Angeles Sparks. Robinson will also host a pregame signing of her book "Finding Myself," which shares her life journey and inspires others to learn from her experiences. Tickets and books can be purchased here.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25 VS. PHOENIX MERCURY | 7 P.M. ET
On August 25, the Liberty face another original WNBA franchise in the Phoenix Mercury. Prior to the game, the team will host a Liberty Legend panel discussion and Liberty Ring of Honor member, Kym Hampton, will sing the National Anthem. The 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2002 Eastern Conference Championship banner will be raised during halftime. Following the game, a limited number of fans in attendance are invited to the Liberty 90s R&B Karaoke Party at Barclays Center's 40/40 Club. 90s R&B Karaoke is presented by Zumble, a 90s Nostalgia Experience platform based in Chicago, Ill. FRIDAY, AUGUST 27 VS. PHOENIX MERCURY | 8 P.M. ET
When New York matches up against Phoenix again on August 27, the team will host a pregame Q&A for season ticket members featuring inaugural WNBA President, Val Ackerman, Matt Zeysing, Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Historian and Curator, Liberty legends, and additional special guests. Immediately following the game, the Liberty will host an exclusive postgame celebration in Brooklyn for season ticket holders and 25th Anniversary Three-Game Pack buyers with special appearances from Liberty legends.
