Corpus Christi, TX – The Corpus Christi Rayz are pleased to announce a partnership with Driscoll Children's Hospital to present "New Year's Chances for Children" a benefit on New Year's Eve. The Rayz will usher in a new tradition and a New Year on December 31st when they host the Austin Ice Bats at 7:00pm in their inaugural New Year's Eve celebration at the American Bank Center. As part of the benefit the Rayz will donate a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to benefit Driscoll Children's Hospital. Tickets benefiting the hospital are available for purchase through the Rayz office, at the Driscoll Children's Hospital Gift Shop or by calling 361-814-PUCK (7825).

The Rayz and Driscoll Children's Hospital will combine forces for the entire month of December in an effort to raise money – a special check presentation will take place at the December 31st game. Rayz General Manager Larry Linde said he was excited about the night for many reasons.

"Our focus this season is on becoming a better member of our community. Being able to benefit a wonderful organization like Driscoll Children's Hospital is a reward in itself...especially at this time of year." said Linde. "We hope to make New Year's with the Rayz an annual event at the American Bank Center. We want to give our fans, the people of Corpus Christi and Driscoll Children's Hospital a great New Year's celebration they will remember."

The inaugural New Year's Eve celebration will begin when the Rayz take the ice against Southeast Division rivals Austin at 7:00pm. Immediately following the game with the Ice Bats, the American Bank Center crowd will be invited to a private block party in front of the arena on Shoreline Blvd. Every fan in attendance at the Rayz game will receive access to the block party featuring live music, food, drinks, games and a spectacular fireworks show at midnight. Entrance to the block party will be restricted to those with a ticket from the game. Following the fireworks fans are encouraged to join the Rayz at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotels as the party rolls on.

Driscoll Children's Hospital is regarded as the offering the finest pediatric care in South Texas. The Hospital is located at 3533 S. Alameda St. in Corpus Christi. Tickets that benefit Driscoll Children's Hospital are available for as little as $10. For more information on how to ring in the New Year while benefiting a great cause, please contact Josh Bogorad with the Rayz at (361)814-7825 or Driscoll Children's Hospital Director of Public Relations, Regina Posada at (361)694-5662.

The first-place Corpus Christi Rayz will return home to the American Bank Center on Friday, December 17th when the Oklahoma City Blazers make their first visit ever to Corpus Christi. It will be the first Men's Night of the season, and all men 18 years and older will receive discounted tickets starting at $8. There will be chugging contests, a Harley Davidson Giveaway contest and the Bud Girls will be at the arena. Tickets are available at the American Bank Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations.
